Now in its third year, The Healthiest Employer Awards are sponsored by Connelly, Carlisle, Fields & Nichols, Florida Blue, and Medi-Weightloss Clinics. The celebration recognizes Tampa Bay area employers that value wellness in the workplace.
“Our agency is on the cutting edge of creating measureable and sustainable wellness in the workplace,” indicates Craig Urquhart, and advisor for Connelly, Carlisle, Fields & Nichols. “The common thread with all the companies being recognized is that their wellness philosophy has improved presenteeism and reduced absenteeism.”
Industry studies, including a recent study published by Population Health Management, have long tied poor employee health habits to reduced employer productivity. According to the recent study:
- Unhealthy Diets — 66% more likely to be less productive.
- Limited/No Exercise — 50% more likely to be less productive.
- Smokers – 28% more likely to be less productive.
The Tampa Bay Business Journal works exclusively with Healthiest Employers LLC, an Indianapolis-based technology and date research company, to identify and honor local businesses for their efforts in creating a healthier workplace. The finalists’ ranking order will be revealed at a luncheon at the Renaissance Vinoy St. Petersburg Resort & Golf Club on September 13. Click here for more information.
